Easy to create professional online surveys
Large, international market research agencies are using EFS Survey for their online questionnaires on a daily basis. With its point and click interface, EFS Survey is easy to learn; and even though it offers a vast array of possibilities, the majority of users are ready to go on the ‘frontline’ after just two days of training. Numerous multinational corporates also number among EFS Survey’s customers. Even occasional users within marketing departments find that EFS Survey’s interface guides them easily and logically.
For advanced users, EFS Survey has syntax interfaces, enabling them to write scripts. And those who creating the largest and most complex surveys areunlikely ever to hit capacity problems, since EFS Survey’s theoretical limit is 120,000 variables.
Open architecture
EFS Survey has an open system architecture with customizable design options. The software offers the user a wide range of options for expanding its range of functions. For example, it is possible to develop user-defined questions in Adobe Flash or HTML and program Javascript-based extensions.
Automation of feedback processes
With EFS Survey`s application programming interface (API), the software can exchange data with external IT systems, creating wide-ranging possibilities for setting up automated feedback processes.
For example, participant data can be transferred from call center software to initiate a campaign-based customer satisfaction survey when a customer has called a hotline. The survey results can be fed back to the company database after the survey. There are almost no technical restrictions to this functionality. Data transmission using EFS Web Services is based on compatible standards and can be configured regardless of the technical aspects of heterogeneous IT systems.
Content and design of online surveys
EFS Survey contains more than 25 different question types already laid out for you. Select, say, a grid , type in the question and responses, and EFS Survey automatically lays it out, including your standard rating scale and any formatting that you have already specified.
With another click of the mouse, you can add any type of multimedia content, such as images, video or sound clips.
You can adapt the survey design – the layout, questions, page setup or navigation elements to any design specifications on a survey-by-survey basis. Once a template has been created, the questionnaire layout can be applied to any future survey project.
Content that can be used for multiple projects, for example frequently-used standard questions, invitation texts and questionnaire designs can be stored in libraries.
International surveys
EFS Survey was developed with international surveys in mind. You can translate the survey into almost any languages, including Chinese, Cyrillic and Arabic. To help you along the way, the standard message texts such as ‘the survey has been closed’ are already translated into 29 languages within the system.
To ensure that you avoid errors caused by manual manipulation of the text, export the questionnaire to translation packages or simply translate within EFS Survey. You also have the option to export to Excel.
Mobile surveys
Mobile surveys are the next ‘big thing’ in market research and EFS Survey is at the forefront, with a range of features such SMS and mobile web delivery to make surveys on phones and other mobile devices, professional and easy to complete. To enable those on the move to access surveys easily,
EFS Survey also supports QR (quick response) codes, which can be printed or shown on TV and used by a mobile device to open a survey URL. This can be useful for scavenger hunts and other multimedia marketing programs.
Routing and filtering
Sophisticated logic and branching capabilities within EFS Survey help participants navigate through the questionnaires. The software uses filters, triggers and hiding conditions to guide participants through the questionnaire as quickly as possible. The software reacts to response behavior and only shows users questions that are relevant to them. EFS Survey also supports complex filter processes: for example, questions can be linked to user-specific information. Users with programming skills can use the LUA scripting language to create complex filters.
Recruitment and management of survey participants
EFS Survey supports different recruitment methods for survey participants. Anonymous surveys, such as those conducted on web sites, enable any respondent to participate in the survey. A special function integrated in EFS Survey readily facilitates this purpose, making it possible to randomly invite website visitors via a popup or layer window to participate in the survey.
In the event that a survey is to be administered to a known list of respondents, you can import contact data into EFS Survey and individually email each person with a personalized web link. Once the survey has progressed, EFS Survey can remind people to participate in the survey and thank those who have completed it.
Quality control before fielding survey
While designing the questionnaire, testers can insert comments within the survey layout, making it far quicker to give feedback and much simpler to understand it.
To check the consistency of the questionnaire, EFS Survey automatically generates test data, making it immediately apparent whether there are any routing errors in the survey or other problems.
During the survey, plausibility checks can be performed to verify whether response behavior is consistent over the course of the survey.
Data quality maintenance
As the results come in, you can view the answers to both closed and open questions in real time.
EFS Survey also enables you to incorporate sophisticated participant quota controls. If the required number of participants has been reached in a given target group, additional respondents will be automatically rejected from the survey.
After the survey, automatic data cleansing is possible. For example, participants who have answered the questionnaire too quickly can be excluded from further analysis of the results. In EFS Survey, diagnostic information – for example screen-outs and break-offs – is maintained for subsequent analyses.
Results analysis, reporting & data export
EFS Survey has extensive analytical options. Data sets can be restricted, split into dimensions, augmented with statistical information and aggregated. The results are displayed in tables and charts which are summarized in reports that can then be exported as Microsoft Excel or HTML files. The raw data sets can also be exported to a number of formats, such as SPSS, Microsoft Excel, Quantum, CSV and fixed format files.
